Trick or Treating

This might sound really sad, but my kids have never been real trick or treating. Well they Madison and Abi have, but they do not remember. We always go to the church.

This year, grandpa goose (my grandpa) invited us to come to his house for Halloween dinner and trick or treating. He lives in a neighborhood that has sidewalks and lights.... not like us.

So we headed over ready for a fun time. (and the first time ever real Trick or Treating door to door for the boys)

Here is everyone. Madison changed her costume to a dead softball player, Kade is still a clone trooper (with mask this time) Jace is still bumblebee, Aiden is a dead soccer player, Noah a dinosaur, Abi changed to a witch, Jinelle, Ari and Emma (Ari's friend) are also witches, and Mike is an invisible man with a monkey.

Abi and Ari

Jinelle and Jace held hands most of the time and ran a lot to keep up with the big kids. Except for when Jace got lost.
Jace, Madison and Mike (the kids liked this house, they gave out "big" candy bars!)

Kade... really mom... another picture?

Here is our crew walking down the street... parents on the outside... kids against the curb... yes we had to explain to our kids what a curb and gutter are!

We had a good time trick or treating. I am not sure how much candy we came home with, but it was at least 20 pounds between the 4 kids and 2 nights! I think we have a new family tradition!

My kids don't know what a curb and gutter are either, let alone a sidewalk. I miss the days of going house to house in a safe neighborhood. Our kids go to the trick or treat sponsored by local businesses at the community center.
