I went with Jace on his first field trip of the year. We went to Devil's Punch Bowl. We have been there several times as a family. Mike has also taken the kids without me. The field trip started off by the bus driver missing a turn and Jace telling his teacher that they were not going the right way. He said that he knew that they were suppose to "turn back there." Eventually the bus driver listened to a 7 year old and turned around.
Here are a few pics from the field trip.

The ranger also brought out an owl named Ruthie
he talked about owls and other animals in the area |

Inside we learned about snakes.
Jace is the one with the blue hat. |

| Hiking... down... that means we have to go back up! |
While we were sitting eating lunch, one of the little girls in my group asked when we were going to go on the hike so we could see the devil. I thought that was pretty funny.
Overall, we had a good day. It is a good thing I stopped and got 2 cases of extra water (none of the kids brought any and it was over 100 degrees). It was also good that we had been there before because I was prepared with all my hiking stuff. Mike has taught me well!

I love that Jace knew how to get to "Devil's Punchbowl" and had to tell the driver how to get there!
