The first one I made was pumpkin muffins using only 2 ingredients! They were fabulous (no pics) but you can find the recipe for the Pumpkin Muffins here
The second one I made was a roast with potatoes and carrots in the crock pot. The roast was yummy, the carrots were good, and the potatoes were terrible! I am not sure if I did something wrong, as I have never made a dinner like this in my crock pot, but after cooking ALL day in the crock pot I could not even pierce the potatoes, so I took them out and put them in a pot with the juices from the crock pot and boiled them for another hour... they were still hard... oh well!
The third and final new recipe for the day was Monkey Muffins. They were delicious! You can find the recipe for Monkey Muffins here
Here are a few pics of mine
I did modify the recipe/instructions a bit. I did not use leftover bread dough, or ready made biscuits. I used frozen Bridgeford rolls. I let them thaw to the point that I could cut them in thirds.
I also mixed the sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
I put a little butter in the muffin tins, put a little more than a teaspoon of the cinnamon sugar mixture in, then placed the roll cut into thirds in the muffin tin. I was worried that 1 roll would not be enough, so I put one more third into each of the tins (plus I only wanted to make 12). Then as the recipe tells you, I put a little butter on top and more cinnamon sugar mixture.
I let them rise in the oven until they were above the rim of the pan, removed them from the oven and preheated the oven to 375. Then baked them for 12 minutes. When I took them out I started to put the sweetened condensed milk on them and it immediately ran over the edge of the pan, so I put 2 pieces of foil under the muffin tins so I would not have melted gooey sweetened condensed milk all over my counter. I let them sit for about 10 minutes before serving them to the family. They LOVED them. Everyone got to eat one (except for daddy) so we can have the others in the morning.
This has been a fun thing to do so far... hopefully I can expand what we eat in our house with these little experiments!
