Final Soccer Tournament and a Concussion!

The boys had their final soccer tournament this weekend.  Both boys played 2 games.  Jace's team won by forfeit their first game, Kade's team lost their first game.  The tournament was a single elimination tournament, but because the way the bracket worked, the team that allowed the least number of goals also advanced, which was Kade's team.  The last 2 games were evening games.

During Kade's first game he had several (8 I think) headers.  Most of them were intentional, but there were 2 that the ball actually hit him in the head.  While getting ready for game 2, Kade complained that his head hurt and he was dizzy.  Coach (dad) did not think much of it, because he did not complain as long as he did not bend over.  During game 2, Kade avoided hitting the ball with his head and was just not his normal athletic self.  After the game he finally told me how he was feeling, I checked his eyes which did not dilate properly, so I called Kaiser and ended up taking him to the ER.  Kade officially has his first soccer concussion.  All will be well soon, but he has to take sports easy for the next few weeks and not have a lot of eye/brain activity.
