.... for what you might ask?
I came home today from the doctor (for those of you who don't know I have a few spots of Skin Cancer that I was getting treated for), to find this is my front yard.
| that is the grill laying in front of the car |
| dents and scratches like this were across the front of the hood. |
When the Sheriff arrived, he took my statement and investigated the car. Upon further inspection (with his really big flashlight) we found that there was fur stuck inside the front of the car, where the grill use to be, as well as on top of the hood. We found paw prints on the porch. He decided that it was a hungry coyote trying to get to another animal, maybe a bunny.
The Sheriff gave me his card with an incident number on it and said I could use that for repairs if needed. He was getting ready to leave and he had a thought.... maybe it wasn't a coyote... he came back into the yard and we further inspected the side of the house. This is what we found...
The Sheriff changed his mind... it was not a coyote, but a mountain lion. I was shocked... we don't live that close to the mountains. Mike came home a few minutes after the Sheriff left and I told him the news. He said that made more sense, a burglar would have just opened the car door (since it was unlocked) and popped the hood.
So the answer is.... Mountain Lion! Who would have thought!
