Why do I....

I started this blog so that family members near and far can keep tabs on what is happening in my family....

For a while I would get a little frustrated that I would spend an hour or so downloading pictures, resizing, then uploading to my blog... and think that nobody is reading it. I usually comment on my friends and families blogs when I read their posts, but it seems that I rarely get comments.

So... I decided, that I do not do my blog for anyone but me... this is also kinda like my journal. I am terrible at writing in my journal, but I love to update my blog. I have been told that soon LDS Journal is going to have a way to import your blog (pictures and all) into their program for printing.

So, that being said, once in a while I am going to do a blog post that is just a post, not an event or holiday, maybe just some of my thoughts or feelings.

I taught my RS lesson on Sunday. I think that it went pretty well. This is the first time that I have had to teach a lesson where I was not given a lesson to teach or at least a topic. It was go with what you feel, but it is the 1st lesson of the year, maybe goals or resolutions would be good.

I tried really hard to do my lesson on goals, but every time I kept thinking, small and simple things are great things brought to pass. I knew that was in the Book of Mormon, I knew it was a scripture mastery scripture, so I looked it up. I also talked to Tracy and found another similar scripture D&C 64:33 (Be not weary in well doing). So this is what I based my lesson on. I at first did talk about goals, but what is our ultimate goal? Exaltation. Then I talked about the small and simple things that we can do to obtain that goal. Reading our scriptures, praying, attending church, attending the temple, doing service and our Visiting Teaching

Overall I think my lesson went well. If nobody in my class learned anything, I did. I learned to listen to the spirit and it will guide you. I prayed for help and I received it. I pray daily that I will be able to magnify my new calling and meet the needs of the sisters in my ward.

I love my Heavenly Father and his son, my brother Jesus Christ. I am grateful for a family who loves and supports me. I am also grateful for friends who are always willing to listen and not pass judgement. I love the blessings that I receive as a daughter of God. I know he loves me. I love my husband and my kids.

Thanks for reading this, even if you don't comment... I hope that I touched you in someway, that you can know I love my Savior and my family!

Just as an edit... I am not blaming anyone who does not leave comments... I am just saying I do not get many. :)

I'm glad your lesson went well. I'm plenty guilty of not leaving a comment all the time, sorry! But I have found the same result on my own blog of non-commentors. Oh well. A friend of mine has told me about a site that will make your blog into a book. She has had hers done for the last two years. I'm looking into it.

I leave comments as muh as you leave comments on my page! :) But you complain when I do comment.....like when I told you Jace had his seatbelt on wrong. I was just trying to help you out and you complain! Hehehehe

Your lessons are always great, Kasey. I heard there is already a program that transfers your blog posts onto something, but I can't remember what. Let me know when LDS Journal comes out with one.
