Abi & Kade 1st Game

Last night was Abi, Kade and my first game. I am including me because I am managing their team (that means I am the head coach... ). We are the Minor B D-Backs. There are 11 kids on our team (9 boys and 2 girls... ranging from 6 to 9 years old)

The kids had a good time. It was a fun game. We still do not officially keep score at this level either. We play 3 outs or 5 runs to an inning. We are suppose to have a pitching machine, but apparently it got broken last season and has not yet been replaced, hopefully soon. That means that Mike got to pitch to our team.

Abi's favorite position is catcher. She has her own helmet and chest plate. We are still looking for her own shin guards, but they are hard to come by alone. Here she is playing catcher.

Kade is our first baseman. He is great at it! He made a couple of unassisted outs in the game yesterday. He is still pretty small compared to most of the kids (as you can see by the runner), but probably one of the best Minor B players in the league.

Abi had 4 at bats and made it on base 1 time. She has a little wild swing! We need to work on keeping our eyes open and watching the ball!

Kade is our crazy little lefty. He loves to hit and run, he is so intense in his concentration! He also had 4 at bats, hitting it every time. He scored at twice, was left on base once and popped out to the shortstop. When it comes to baseball Kade is very serious, he has fun with his friends while on the bench and at practice, but when he is in the field or batting it is "game on!"

This should be a fun season. More pictures will come! 1 game down 16 more to go (for this team!)
