Blood, Blossoms and a Bunny

Kind of a weird trio of words! Well that has been my trio of the past few days!
Blood....

well for starters on Tuesday Abi cut her finger open on the kitchen bar stool. I thought it was really bad, blood was dripping like I had never seen! I called Mike and of course he thought I was over-reacting. He told me to hold pressure on it, it would stop bleeding and to put a band-aid on it. I did as he said. It sorta stopped bleeding. A few hours later, the band aid was soaked through, so I had to replace it. Then again, before she went to bed. I also replaced it in the morning before school. On the way to school the blood was soaking through the band-aid again. I decided to keep her home and call the doctor (it was a minimum day anyhow!). I took her in to the Kaiser Call Ahead and Make an Appointment Urgent Care. The doctor said I should have brought her in as soon as it happened and they would have stitched it up. But since it was over 12 hours old, all they could do was steri-stitches. So she has 3 steri stitches and her hand is all wrapped up for the next few days.
Here is a picture of her hand. She has a hard time writing since it is her right hand and she is right handed.
Here she is... she is all smiles now... but she was not a few days ago!

Blossoms.....

I went outside on Wednesday to water my little garden. To my pleasant surprise I had the beginnings of blossoms on my tomatoes. I have not posted pictures of my garden in a while. My plants are growing very big! My cilantro was harvested and died.

Here are my tomato plants.
My peppers

Here is the blossom on my pepper plant. I knew it was getting a blossom, but it bloomed between last night and this morning.

Here are the blossoms on my tomato plant.

I am very excited that I might actually get something out of this little garden that we can eat!

Ok... now for the bunny part....
I had to get the little red car smogged, so I could register it.

I went to a place near my office. The owner came in and asked me if I live in Phelan. I said yes, a little puzzled. I was also a little worried that maybe he could not do my smog.

He then asked me "Do you make it a habit of carrying your pet bunny in your car?" "Uhhh... no! I do not have a pet bunny" was my response. He asked me to come with him.

Here is my car in his shop on the smog machine.... do you see anything weird?

Lets zoom in a little

do you see it now?

yup... that is a bunny in my engine. It was a live and scared to death. The guy gave me 2 choices. Leave it and hope it does not fall in to the engine while I drive and I can get it out myself at home or option 2... he could poke it and hope it jumps out and runs out the back doors into the fields.

What did I choose? What would you choose?

I picked Option 2... get it out!
The poor bunny tried to run up over the car and ended up sliding down the windshield.

It finally made its way around to the front of the car and was ready to jump off the front.

It took off the out the back door of the shop into the field.

I called Mike to tell him about our little pet... his response???? The poor bunny won't be with it's family...... what a family man!

So that has been my 3 days this week.... blood, blossoms and a bunny!

Love the bunny!! I had a good chuckle on that one. Very excited for your garden, it looks beautiful!! Poor Abi, poor Mom! Thanks for the info, that they can do stitches up until 12 hours after the injury. I hope Abi's hand heals well. Did you smooth out the spot that cut her?

The bunny is so cute, it looks so scared! Only you Kasey would that happen too! I am glad Abi is doing much better since her "accident". Her poor little finger, next time Mother's intuition always wins hands down=-)

No way! That poor bunny! (Oh, and poor Abi, too). LOL. Never a dull moment. Your plants look fabulous! I may actually plant a garden next year (I'm the only person in Elko who doesn't have a garden).
