Near Payson there is a State Park, called the Tonto Natural Bridge State Park. It is really cool. Frank wanted to take the kids to see it, so we went on Friday (on Black Friday mind you... hiking instead of shopping.... but it was a lot prettier and quieter than shopping). We took a lot of pictures, here are a few of my favorites.
The kids walking down the trail.
The natural bridge before you get all the way to the bottom.
The rainbow the waterfall makes
The kids at the bottom
From inside the little cave looking back out the way we came down
The kids being goofy
Just some cool pics.. this is a rock at the bottom, it is covered in ice and icicles.
The kids watching the icicles falling from the top of the bridge, down to where they were just standing. An icicle almost hit Abi. When we were leaving, we found out they closed the hike to the bottom because of the falling icicles. I actually have the icicles falling on video....
The kids on the walk way bridge with Grandpa
Kids and grandpa at the lookout above the natural bridge.
There is also a trail called the Waterfall trail.... in this area there is a natural spring that makes the waterfalls. This one has the water coming out the sides and down the rocks.
at the bottom there was a big puddle... Jace had his rain boots on and played in the water... he got pretty wet.
Some of the waterfall trickles of water froze.
Here is a picture of the leaves on the steps... I thought the stairs looked pretty... we do not have a lot of leaves where we live, so I love the look of leaves, I think they are pretty and unique. (I actually took this picture too... most (not all) of the pictures in my posts are usually taken by Mike)
It was a great little day trip. We are glad we took the time to go see it!
