Mother's Day

I know that Mothers Day was a few days ago... but being a mother can be very busy! I am glad to say that I had a good Mother's Day! Jace was so excited about it being Mother's Day that he kept a count down. On Saturday he informed Mike that Mother's Day is only 1 days away and that he needed to go shopping. He had a list in his little head that he wanted to get me.

Our blessings that call me mom!

On Saturday, we had the little kids baseball game, then we started to do a little house & yard work. Then we remembered that we were going to talk to Grandma Sue at 1, which was when Mike told the kids he would take them shopping. We talked to Grandma and Grandpa in Argentina, the kids went out to play in the water, and Mike went shopping by himself for me. He did good! Then we had the snake incident. After which, Mike and I went out to dinner. That was a very nice treat!

Sunday was great! Jace woke me up at 4:52am to tell me Happy Mother's Day. I said thanks, kissed him and sent him on his way to go watch cartoons. I wanted to sleep! He proceeded to come in every half hour (or there about) to tell me again Happy Mothers Day. Finally a little after 8:30, I decided it was time to get up. Mike and the kids made breakfast and I took a shower. It was the first time in at least 2 or 3 months, that I was able to take a shower without hearing "Mommy...." while in the shower! That was awesome!

I got out and got dressed and they had breakfast all ready for me, Jace even made the toast! Toast, eggs, bacon and Orange Juice! Then I made a few little things for the ladies that I visit teach, Mike started the boys in the bath and getting dressed. Since we ate kinda late, I was not hungry for lunch, but the kids ate again. Then we were off to church. After which, we came home grabbed a change of clothes and a snack, then off to Ariana's baptism. She turned 8 on Sunday and was baptized on her birthday.

It was kind of a crazy day, but for the most part it was great!

Here are some of my thoughts about being a mom:
~Whoever said that being a mom was easy.... well I believe that they lied!
~I never knew that I could love someone as much as I love my kids!
~Love is not something that you can have too much of!
~Toys EVERYWHERE.... that is a part of being a mom!
~A lego not put away, will find mom's feet in the middle of the night!
~My kids tend to forget if I yelled at them, if they know that I love them.
~A mom's work is NEVER done!
~I am not "just a mom", I am my kids mom!
~I am also a chef, nurse, taxi cab, dictionary, coach, team mom, teacher, seamstress, and so much more!

I have learned that it does not matter if my house is spotless, even when I have company coming over, nobody is perfect and as Jace says, mom can fix anything!

Sometimes being a mom is like this flower, all alone and out in the cold! Sometimes as moms I think that we think that we have to do it all. Well... I heave learned that we do not have to do it all, we can only do as much as we can and do our best. Laundry not folded can wait, dishes not cleaned will not break, dust unkempt will not ruin the house, but my kids need to know that I love them! This flower we found out in the bright sun on an afternoon in late May. It was all alone, in the cold, wet snow. Sometimes that is how motherhood is, all alone in the cold wet snow (especially if you play soccer in Phelan) but we can get through it! That is what our friends, family and Heavenly Father are for! To help us get through the cold, wet, alone days!

I hope you all had a great Mother's Day!
