Easter 2010

Easter time in our house is always filled with fun and dying of eggs! This year our pre-Easter festivities were cut a little short. We drove to Utah on Friday morning for Cheila's play and to celebrate her 16th birthday. We drove home Saturday afternoon/evening. We got home about 8pm. The kids still wanted to color eggs, so I boiled 9 eggs (my plan was 2 each plus an extra in case one cracked... but Jace fell asleep so the it ended up being 3 each). The kids took baths and we let the eggs cook then cool.

The finished eggs.... we usually do about 18 eggs so everyone can color lots, but we just colored eggs in Kade's 2nd grade class so we already had more than a dozen hard boiled eggs!

Easter morning... the kids were VERY excited to get up and check out their baskets. Here they are "not looking"

All of us got a "Jesus Egg" in our baskets. I am not sure how this tradition started, but every year our kids get an EMPTY plastic egg in their basket. They all know that this is their "Jesus Egg." It is the Jesus Egg because after 3 days when they moved the stone the tomb was empty.... hence the empty egg.

I know that Christ is risen and that he died for each and everyone of us. I know that through Christ and living the commandments and keeping our covenants that we have made that we will all be able to return to live with him again someday.
