Here is a little garden update. All of my little plants that I was growing inside have died. I think they stopped growing because they were too close together, did not have enough sun, and got root rot (or so I am told).
So I replanted new seed in these bigger boxes and have them outside. Yes that is a snake... it is FAKE... it keeps the chippies, birds, bunnies and squirrels out of my plants. As you can see this box looks empty... it almost is... I had 3 very well growing tomatoes in here... but something ate them!
I have been watering it still, thinking that maybe something might still grow. This morning I found this... yup a tiny little sprout.
I also used my cricut to label the box.
Here are my peppers. They are finally growing and have more than 1 leaf each.
Here is a close up of the plants.

and the new label.
My cilantro is growing by far the best... yup another snake... it really works... since I added them, I have had no critters bugging my plants!
Here is a picture from above. The new leaves actually look like cilantro!
And the new label...
So I am learning... it takes patience to grow stuff. Maybe I will start earlier next year and have more success. I am excited to at least use some cilantro that I grew myself. We will see how the tomatoes and peppers turn out. I am going to go buy some little tomato plants to plant in the box.... we will see... maybe we will have salsa... maybe we will just have cilantro!

I'm very excited for you. I may just try that snake idea in my garden. We have rabbits who come and nibble on our onions every day.
A little tid bit about cilantro that you may not know; after it has grown a nice looking little bunch of stems and leaves it will grow a thicker stem with different looking leaves (called going to seed). Those other leaves taste totally different. A cilantro plant once it has gone to seed becomes corriander. Not sure what you do with that herb/spice,so use the cilantro as soon as you can.
