Jace's Field Trip

I was able to go to Jace's Field Trip to the Grassy Hallow Visitors Center in Wrightwood.  We learned about the animals in the forest, when we went into the Visitors Center.  Then we went to the "Hug-A-Tree" program.  The kids learned all about safety while hiking and what to do if you get lost (Hug a tree).  After that program we headed off on a one mile hike.  It was interesting with 30 first graders and about 6 adults.  Overall we had a good time.  Here are a few pics from our day.

At the Hug-A-Tree Program.  They had all the kids sit on this big fallen tree

This is where the kids learned that 4 kids yelling "help"
is not louder than 1 kid blowing a whistle.

Jace and me on the hike.

Jace smelling this tree.  It smelled
like vanilla.  It was pretty cool.
We had a lot of fun.  The kids like to go to Grassy Hallow, maybe we will go this summer again!
